Spindrift Research
Spindrift founder Bruce Klingbeil said, “Our research is concerned with the interface between science and religion.” Bruce and his son John were spiritual healers who wondered if prayer could be rigorously tested under scientific conditions.

Beginning in 1969, through trial and error involving approximately 70 experiments, Bruce and John developed several dozen experiments of prayer and consciousness. These healing experiments involved simple organisms, such as yeast and beans and inorganic test subjects in order to limit the variables found in more complex human studies. Spindrift's most well known contribution is its two prayer styles: (1) Goal-directed prayer that picks a goal; (2) nongoal-directed prayer, which embraces the subject with pure qualities of holiness that promotes healing. Spindrift’s research in the laboratory has established evidence that prayer and consciousness can be scientifically tested. The tests indicate the effectiveness of prayer.
